Walk a mile in a foster kid’s shoes
At Revolution, giving back to the community is a core tenet of our business, and
Sleep Country’s Foster Kids program is a cause we’ve supported for years. The local mattress retailer collects essential items year round with six donation drives, making it incredible simple for anyone to give back.
Now through June 7
th, Sleep Country is hosting its annual
Shoe Drive for Foster Kids, and our team was presented with a challenge to collect donations: spend $50 (no more, no less!) to purchase
quality shoes for foster kids. The results of our teams’ efforts were awesome – 23 pairs of shoes for local foster children, including cool and notable brands like Skechers, Converse, Saucony, Vans and more.
The challenge was a fun opportunity to test our bargain shopping skills, but it also helped shed light on something foster families across the state face every day – having limited funds to replace essential items for foster kids entering their homes with just the clothes on their backs. To meet the growing cost of raising a child,
foster care rates in the Northwest would need to increase by 96%. Helping close this gap is where Sleep Country and generous community members, businesses and organizations can lend a helping hand.
If you’d like to give back to Sleep Country’s Foster Kids program, donate a new pair of shoes in any size – infant to adult – through June 7
th. Or if you don’t have the time to shop, make a donation
online and Sleep Country will purchase shoes for foster children on your behalf.
