Meet Our Newest Team Member, Emma!
We’re so excited to have Emma join our Consumer Lifestyle PR team as an Intern! Learn a little more about her in the interview below.
Tell us a little about yourself:
I was born and raised in Portland, OR, and moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon. I’ve spent my time here studying Public Relations with a minor in Spanish. Eugene always felt like the right place for me to go to school and I am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here. I’ll be graduating next year and am thrilled to be joining the Revolution team as an intern. When I’m not working, you can usually find me sewing, reading or cooking with friends.
There are a lot of PR agencies out there, why did you pick Revolution?
Revolution stood out to me because of its mission. From a young age, living a sustainable and mindful lifestyle has been an important part of my life. The team here is deeply passionate about making change, and I wanted to be a part of that. I think that passion drives results and is why client relationships are so strong. Revolution’s clients are really special, and everyone can feel proud of what they’re accomplishing.
What attracted you to pursue PR as a career?
I have always been an analytical thinker and planner. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do when I started college, but once I saw some of the inner workings of PR in an introductory class, I was hooked. Combining those skills with my passion for storytelling just felt right. I could immediately picture myself doing the work, and it got me excited about the contributions I could make to society.
We’re an agency of self-proclaimed wellness junkies! What is your favorite trend in the wellness space right now?
It’s been great to see the recent boom in teas that support the mind and body. I grew up drinking tea, so I’m always on the lookout for new brands and flavors. My favorite right now is After Dinner Mints by Clipper. I was never a big fan of mint tea before but this one changed my mind. All of their products are fair trade and organic, and they’re working toward reducing packaging which is always a hurdle with tea.
Is there a workout that you’re loving right now?
Lately, I’ve been enjoying trying different yoga classes on YouTube. Right now I’m working to incorporate elements of core training into my routine through different poses like forearm stands.
One of our biggest motivators when it comes to exercise is being able to sport cute activewear! Is there a specific item that you’re particularly obsessed with these days?
At the moment I love the flared legging trend. They’re both functional and cute for everyday wear. I like Wolven’s Onyx Bell Bottom, they come in petite and regular sizing which is always a win for us short girls. Wolven repurposes plastic bottles in all of its leggings by creating recycled PET fabrics. I aim to be mindful when purchasing new clothing, and it's a brand that makes doing so easier for consumers.
If you had to choose one thing that you are most passionate about, what would it be and why?
I’d have to say approaching each person with kindness. It seems simple but what I like about it is that everyone defines kindness differently. Instead of trying to fit into what you might think someone else wants you to be, focusing on being kind can help you stay true to your values.
