Say Hello To The Newest Must-Have Additions To Your Spring/Summer Wardrobe
We Know You’ll Be Just As Obsessed As We Are!
After what might have felt like the longest winter ever we can feel the joy and a new sense of purpose in the air as we move into spring and summer. As the world starts to open up again, the weather changes, and you suddenly panic realizing your entire closet consists of tie-dye sweatsuit sets and workout gear, have no fear! We are so excited to introduce you to your newest spring wardrobe must-haves brought to you by The OULA Company.
Recently featured in PopSugar, Oprah Magazine, and Nordstrom’s Black History Month NYC Pop Up, The OULA Company is a sustainable contemporary clothing brand with a trans-seasonal focus that pairs fashion with wearability, comfort and practicality.
OULA founder and CEO, Erika Dalya Massaquoi, is a globetrotter whose vision for OULA’s elevated retro vibe was inspired by her closetful of vintage items from around the world. This, in addition to Erika’s experience as a contemporary art curator, former Assistant Dean at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, and former fashion journalist and professor has provided her with the vision to create classic, lasting and wearable art that leaves a minimal carbon footprint.
OULA products are marked by vibrant colors and patterns, and the brand sources Ankara (African Wax Fabric) globally, with a visual language that is inclusive and historically dynamic. OULA believes style can liberate and empower, and the brand’s design ethos is particularly influenced by African-American Grandassa models who were part of the Black is Beautiful movement from 1962 - 1979. OULA promotes grace and natural beauty in all its manifestations, with sizes from S-XL and designs fit for a wide range of body types and heights.
As we mentioned previously, Erika’s pieces were recently featured in Nordstrom’s flagship NYC store among eight other Black-founded and owned companies as a celebration of Black History Month.
So what are you waiting for? Erika’s pieces are selling out fast, and summer will be here before you know it!
