Self-Care at Home
A few of our favorite beauty brands and beauty influencers
Updated January 26, 2021.
Over the past several months of working from home and limiting our time with others, we’ve decided to embrace the opportunity to activate some new beauty self-care routines with the goal of achieving glowy, healthy skin.
In case you want to join us, we’ve compiled our favorite natural beauty brands and products alongside our go-to beauty influencers for self-care success.
Always wanted to try a facial roller? Us too, and now seems like the perfect time. We’re trying Skin Gym’s Rose Quartz Facial Roller, which promises a relaxing facial massage that will leave you with radiant skin! Sign us up! As a side note, Credo Beauty is one of our favorite online stores to get natural skincare and beauty product swaps for everything toxic in your beauty cabinet.
Another new routine we’re creating is dry brushing after we shower. Many suggest you dry brush before, but in listening to a GOOP podcast and GP’s ask me anything, she suggested dry brushing after you shower. This sustainably made dry brush from Tiny Yellow Bungalow is perfect for at home or travel.
For times when we’re video conference-free, we love to mask. These Juice Beauty Eye Masks are perfect for reducing puffiness and dark circles. We’re also obsessed with Arctic Breeze’s Rescue Mask for moisturizing and brightening, and Cocokind’s customizable Chlorophyll Mask.
We’re re-evaluating our daily routines by including weekly baths with Lush Bath Bombs or Ethique Bath Mylk Milk while listening to our favorite podcasts. We also prioritize time outside (even if it's raining), but not without Josie Maran Cosmetics daily moisturizer and SPF, and a dose of Vitamin C to protect our skin, like C is for Colette from Odacite.
With all our time at home, it’s been easier than usual to get sucked into a social media hole. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! Many influencers are sharing what they’re doing to care for themselves and others, and it’s beautiful to watch unfold online.
Renowned surgery-free, skin-positive expert, Dr. Brandith Irwin approaches skincare differently than most of the industry. She emphasizes prevention and healthy living first and foremost. Follow her on Instagram @drbrandith_skin for unbiased advice on anti-aging and skincare for active lifestyles.
Seattleite, Kate of @the.skincare.diary shares thorough and honest reviews of all the hot skincare products and ones that may be new to you-- bonus that her feed has an amazing aesthetic. Take this time to try a new Kate-recommended product like Summer Fridays' Jet Lag Mask.
Another Seattle local, @morgan_lillian openly shares her skincare journey, new products she’s trying, and old favorites she swears by like the Asarai Power Trip Oil. Morgan also continuously shares how to support local businesses during this time, which we love to see.
