It’s Sleep Awareness Week!
We wouldn’t call ourselves sleep experts, but as an agency, we’ve been working with mattress retailer Sleep Train for 11 years, which means we’ve all learned a thing or two about getting a good night’s rest.
So in honor of Sleep Awareness Week, here are a few of our inside tips – from our pillow to yours:
Choose the right kind of white noise
Meagan never falls asleep with the TV or radio on. She and Angie both use a fan for white noise to help block out any background noise that might disrupt their slumber.
Seriously, get off your phone
I can be a terrible sleeper, and I know exactly why – I love reading the news and magazines on my tablet before bed. Study after study will tell you
how bad this is. I try to adhere
most of the time, but Angie and Jennifer always opt to
read a book or
magazine instead of spending time on devices and say this is their tried and true tip for a great night’s sleep.
Consistency is key
Jennifer is a huge proponent of going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, and Meagan consistently gets 8 hours each night. It’s as simple as that – sleeping is important, so figure out your
bedtime routine and stick to it.
Your mattress and sleep accessories matter
I put off getting a new mattress when I
really needed one for way too long, and when I finally upgraded, it made a night and day difference for my sleep quality. Aaron also swears by a
humidifier to improve sleep in dry climates, and a stash of Breath-Rite strips comes in handy, too.
Do what works for you
Brenna and Jennifer work out at night. While this doesn’t work for everyone, they both find that sweating it out, followed by a healthy,
high-protein snack makes falling and staying asleep a sure thing.
And in further celebration of Sleep Awareness Week, we’re excited to share Sleep Train’s #SleepMakeover giveaway (Closed). Enter to win through March 20
th. The grand prize gives one lucky winner a complete bed makeover, including a Tempur-Pedic mattress, bed frame, sheets and pillows (valued at nearly $6,000!). It’s just what you need to go from a so-so-sleeper to a bedtime buff.
