Our Top Media Picks
As PR professionals, reading media is an incredibly important part of our job. Whether it’s a style magazine, a daily newspaper, or a food blog, they’re all a wealth of information and inspiration on trends and industry happenings that influence our client work. For this week’s blog entry, we finally asked the team, “What are your favorite media outlets to read?” and received great answers!
I always try to at least read the
New York Times on Sunday for everything, especially food trends. Florence Fabricant is a favorite. And
Red Tricycle for all things kids and parenting.
– Angie
I've been doing a lot of design/architectural reading on
Apartment Therapy and
Green Builder Magazine. I also like
Goop and
Eater for keeping up with lifestyle trends
– Corinne
For design-related topics my top choices are:
Brand New (smart, critical reviews of brandings projects),
Design Observer (critical essays on design) and
Digiday (insider news on cutting-edge digital campaigns and trends).
– Aaron
I love the
New York Times, they recently launched weekly newsletters and it’s my new favorite! I also read (and love)
Vogue,
Seattle Times,
Cup of Jo,
Sunset Magazine,
425 Magazine and the
Puget Sound Business Journal. The list is endless
– Jennifer
For fast news I use my Twitter and follow media outlets that range from
CNN to
KING 5, to
SELF Magazine. I also like to check up on
Refinery29, Seattle Refined,
Ad Age, and
Mashable for industry happenings.
– Brenna
Right now, I’m loving long-form stories about different cultures, issues and people and from publications like
VICE,
The Atlantic and
The New York Times. And it’s not the most sophisticated, but I think
BuzzFeed does the best job at keeping me informed on pop culture and consumer trends
super quickly.
